Sustainability

Bartels has established itself as an independent consultant in order to test and give advice on potential improvements regarding sustainability within engineering projects. 

As sustainability grows in demand, so do the (independent) bodies that provide measuring instruments for measuring. There are currently over 50 instruments accredited. Our view on sustainability complies with the following methods;

• BREAAM (NL + International)
• Greencalc+
• Energy Performance Standard
• Energy Label

 As Bartels, we believe that all aspects of sustainability should be considered and weighed integrally as design variables. We have registered assessors in the above-mentioned methods. Nevertheless, we do think that the scores on these sustainability indexes should not be a goal in itself. It is about the overall consideration of all design variables, including costs on a short and longer term.
