Shopping centre Forum Koszalin - Poland
Shopping centre Forum Koszalin is located in the suburbs of the city of Koszalin close to the Baltic See. This investment has a gross area of more then 80.000 m2. It’s architectural design is connected to the architecture of old fisherman’s villages with the entrance tower as a symbol of a lighthouse.
For this project, Bartels did the design in all phases including workshop drawings and site supervision. The investment is divided into two buildings: do-it-yourself market of about 10.000m2 and main building with shops, hypermarket, cinema’s, restaurants and bowling center. A carpark for 1.500 cars is situated on the ground, under the building and on the roof.
The structure is designed with precast concrete columns and beams with hollow-core slabs and TT plates for creating large spans. Stability of the building is secured by concrete cores like stair cases, walls and columns. Partly the roof is covered with shed roof structure. The cinemas – located on the first floor – are designed in cast in-situ concrete, because of acoustic insulation, very high walls and the need to transfer between different grids of columns and walls.
