Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium roof - Jeddah (Saudi Arabia)

Bakkala Consulting Engineers was appointed by Salama Structural Engineers for concept and scheme design for the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium Roof in Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  A fabric covered dome has been designed by Bakkala for enhancement of the users’ experience of the venue.

 

The Contractor, Saudi Building Technic Maintenance Company, also appointed Bakkala to carry out detailed design of all steelwork and connections; to supervise the steelwork fabrication by Zamil Steel in Egypt, and to supervise erection of the steel on site.  

 

Bakkala has completed the detailed design of the steelwork and fabric canopy covering including all of the steelwork connection details.  The PVC3 fabric covering is in the form of an undulating dome which will effectively create an 18000 square metre projection surface for lighting displays while buffering the fans from inclement weather, all in an effort to provide an enhanced experience of the venue for the fans.

 

Particular care and expertise will be needed for successful delivery of the project on site. Working together with the development team, Novum Structures, Smulders Polska and the steelwork detailers at RCK in Poznan, we hope to be involved in the successful and timely realization of the project on site and we are looking forward to the opportunity to be consulted on these critical matters.
