Logistics service provider Black Box Logistics (BBL) moved into its new building in 2008, near the freeway A27 in Almere. The distribution center consists of a storage with office space. Bartels was structural engineer for this project.

Together with VDR Engineering Bartels worked on the construction of this 30,000 m2 distribution center. Thanks to the hugo windows and skylights, a pleasant working environment has been created for employees. Also, the building is very transparent, so that everyone that passes-by can see into the building, after which it is immediately clear what BBL does. 

The superstructure is a large steel skeleton. Throughout the building energy reduction solutions are applied. The use of underfloor heating is one of the examples. More than 95 kilometer of pipeline is laid in the building for this purpose.
